Common questions

No, you shouldn't create a new account. Instead, upload a copy of your certificate (personbevis) in the account you currently are using. This will confirm your personnummer.

When you've done this, please let us know by sending us an email using the contact form. We will then update your account so that it is based on your personnummer. Please note that this will become your username (instead of your email address).

You can find the contact form at the category page for user accounts.

Yes, you can. When creating an account, simply follow the instructions for applicants without a Swedish personal ID number. Your user name will be your email address. Be sure you register with an email address:

  • you check frequently
  • that isn't temporary (such as one linked to a school you'll be leaving)

You'll receive important information from University Admissions at that email address.

You can change your address and other information, such as your telephone number, right here on Log in and go to your profile under 'My pages'.

Applicants are only allowed one account at If you create another account, this could:

  • negatively affect your application and delay processing
  • result in you not being considered for any Swedish Institute Scholarships you've applied for

Do not create a new account when making changes to your application. You must use the same account.

It depends on when you last logged in to your account at

If you last logged in after November 2014:

Your account is most likely still active. Just log in using the email address and password you used last time. If you have forgotten your username (email address) or password, click on 'Forgot password' in the login area and follow the instructions.

Do not create a new user account if you still have your old one - you are only allowed one account.

If you last logged in before November 2014:

Your account has been deleted, though note that any documents you previously submitted are still in the admissions system. Please follow these steps:

  • Select a different email address than the one you used earlier. If you don't have one, you can always create a new account. Remember that you'll have to check this account regularly as important information will be sent to you there from University Admissions.
  • Contact University Admissions and let them know that your old account was deleted, you've created a new one and that you need to connect this new account with all your documents that are on file in the admissions system.

You can change your address and other information, such as your telephone number, right here on Log in to your account and go to your profile in 'My pages'.

It depends on which university you’re studying at.

You can use your university account to log in to if you attend one of the institutions listed in the drop down menu under the option for current students. Select your university and you’ll be taken to a log in page. Use your university account information to log in, and you will be returned to

Please note that not all universities have this option.

If you created a user account with your email address, your username will be updated automatically to your new address when you enter new data in your profile at

It's important that you select an email address that isn't temporary. If you forgot to change it and the address becomes invalid - for example if you stop studying at a school where the email address was created - you will no longer receive important information from University Admissions.

A user account is a profile you create here at It gives you access to your online application and functions as a link with the qualifications documents you submit. At your account, you can:

  • apply for courses and programmes
  • submit your documentation
  • receive your admissions results
  • pay your application fee

In order to apply online at, you have to create a user account.

Creating an account is simple. Just click on 'Log in'.

The most likely reason is that selection is currently underway.

In order to offer places to students who have applied for admission, a selection must take place. During this selection process - which mostly occurs electronically - all student applications are locked. During this time, you'll also be unable to search for courses in the admission round that is locked.

Selection normally only lasts for a few days, with the exception of selection to the Second admission round for the spring semester which usually lasts for a few weeks over the Christmas holiday. After the process is completed, you will have access to your application again.

Yes, you can. Log in to your account here at and go 'My pages' and then your profile. You can change your address and other profile information, such as your telephone number and email address.

Please note that if you signed up for an account using your email address and change it, your username will automatically be updated to that new email address.

If you've forgotten your password, it's easy to request a new one. Go to and click on 'Log in', then follow the link for those who can't remember their password.

You’ll receive an email to the address you have on record in your profile, with instructions on how to change your password.

If you haven't already created a user account, be sure to not check the box regarding receiving information from third parties.

If you have an existing account and would like to change your settings:

  • log in to your account
  • go to 'My pages', then Profile

Under 'Third part access', you'll be able to:

  • check 'Yes' if you would like to receive information from third parties
  • check 'No' if you don't wish to receive this type of information

There are several reasons why your password link may not work:

  • You have already clicked once on the link (the link only works one time)
  • Ten minutes have passed since the link was sent to you (the link expires after 10 minutes)
  • If you have a Swedish personal identity number (personnummer), you have entered it incorrectly more than 3 times
  • You've asked for the link to be invalidated
  • Technical problems

You should order a new password on and try the process again.
