There are general instructions for all applicants; it is important that you start with Step 1 and then work your way through the remaining steps in order to submit the right documents in the right way.

Meeting the English requirement - bachelor's and master's level studies

You can meet the English requirement with your upper secondary studies with an A-level in English.

If you’re documenting your English based on your upper secondary studies, you must provide your complete upper secondary documents in order to demonstrate you meet the requirement. Please submit your upper secondary documents as indicated below under ’For bachelor’s level studies’.

You can also demonstrate that you meet the English language requirement through certain university studies, or an internationally approved English test. Find out more at the following link:

Previous studies that meet the general entry requirements and any special documentation instructions

For bachelor's level studies:

Previous studies that meet the requirement: Sri Lankan General Certificate of Education, Ordinary Level (O-level) and Advanced level (A-level).

  • If you graduated 31 December 2001 at the latest, the requirement is a minimum of 4 A-levels, and 6 O-levels.
  • If you graduated 1 January 2002 or later, the requirement is a minimum of 3 A-levels and 6 O-levels.

Documents required: Official Statements of your O-levels and A-levels, issued by the Department of Examination, National Evaluation and Testing Service (NETS).

English requirement: An A-level in English, with a passing grade.

For master's level studies:

For entry to a Master's programme, the minimum requirement is a 3-year Bachelor’s degree.

Please note that a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, or a Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery, do not satisfy the entry requirements for master's programmes.
