Welcome to the information page for applicants who have completed studies in Turkey, with information about meeting the English requirement, what previous studies meet the basic entry requirements, and any special documentation instructions.

Start with Step 1 - Finding out what I need to submit

There are general instructions for all applicants; it is important that you start with Step 1 and then work your way through the remaining steps in order to submit the right documents in the right way.

Meeting the English requirement - bachelor's and master's level studies

Upper secondary studies completed in this country do not meet the English requirement for studies in Sweden.

For university studies completed in Turkey, you can meet the English requirement with:

  • a completed one year preparatory programme in English at a Turkish university (passing grades for both terms are required). The preparatory year must be included in the university transcript and the transcript must clearly state that the preparatory class was English

  • Certain other university studies

You can also demonstrate that you meet the English language requirement through an internationally approved English test. Find out more at the following link:

Previous studies that meet the general entry requirements and any documentation requirements

For bachelor's level studies:

Secondary School Certificate (Lise/Lisesi Diplomasi, Devlet Lise Diplomasi, Anadolu Lisesi Diplomasi, Devlet Teknik Lise Diplomasi, Devlet Meslek Lise Diplomasi) and final school grades transcript.

Translation requirements

You must always submit your school Diploma in the original language and a translation in Swedish or English. This translation must be completed by an official translator.

If your school issues your transcripts in English, these can be accepted.

For master's level studies:

The minimum requirement is a Bachelor's degree such as Lisans Diplomasi / Mühendislik Diplomasi, minimum 4-year and equivalent to 240 ECTS.

  • To demonstrate your eligibility, you must submit your final transcript of record and Diploma. If your diploma supplement lists all your courses, it can replace the transcript given that it is sent together with the diploma. All pages with text/writing/stamps must be submitted, even back pages.

Translation requirements

Academic documents issued in English by the university can be accepted (no translation is required) if the title of the degree is clearly stated on the documents. Please note that in some instances, we may also require documents issued in their original language.

If your documentation is issued in another language you need to submit documentation both in the original language and a translation completed by an official translator. Accepted languages for translations are Swedish, English, French or German.
