Start with Step 1 - Finding out what I need to submit

There are general instructions for all applicants; it is important that you start with Step 1 and then work your way through the remaining steps in order to submit the right documents in the right way.

Meeting the English requirement - bachelor's and master's level studies

Students from Rwanda must be able to demonstrate proficiency in English by means of an internationally recognised test, e.g. TOEFL, IELTS or the equivalent. Please note the following exceptions to this: 

  • Students with a bachelor's degree (2005 or later) from Kigali Institute of Education or Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) will be considered to have demonstrated skills equivalent to English Course 6.
  • Students with a bachelor's degree (2009 or later) from National University of Rwanda will be considered to have demonstrated skills equivalent to English Course 6.
  • Students with a bachelor's degree from 2007 or later from the following institutions: Kigali Health Institute, Kabgayi  Catholic University, Kibongo University of Agriculture, Technology and Education and the University/Institute of Lay Adventist of Kigali (Université/Institut Laïque Adventistes de Kigali) will be considered to have demonstrated skills equivalent to English Course 6.

Previous studies that meet the general entry requirements and any documentation requirements

For bachelor's level studies:

  • National/Rwanda Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (General eller Professional A2), or
  • Diplôme de Fin d’Etudes Secondaires (Humanités Génerales, Techniques, Pédagogiques eller Professionelles A2), or
  • Certificat du Cycle Supérieur de l’Enseignement Secondaire, or
  • Diplôme d’Humanités Générales.
