The following are specific, additional documentation instructions for IB students applying for admission in Sweden. 

Be sure to also follow the general instructions for all applicants.

Meeting the English requirement - bachelor's and master's level studies

You can meet the English requirement with:

  • English 6 - English B, SL with language of instruction other than English.
  • English 7 - English A1, A2 HL and SL; English B,HL; or English B, SL with English as the language of instruction.

You can also demonstrate that you meet the English language requirement through certain university studies, or an internationally approved English test. Find out more at the following link:

IB and EB applicants

For master's level studies:

The International Baccalaureate does not meet the requirements for studies at the master's level in Sweden.

For autumn semester applicants with an IB Diploma awarded in May 2018

  • In order for your IB results to be made available to University Admissions for the first selection in July, you must request an early result from the IB coordinator at your school as soon as possible. When submitting results together with your coordinator via IB’s Results Service, please use recipient code “UHR”. The coordinator should make your results available to University Admissions/Antagningsservice by 5 July.

  • If you are doing retakes in May 2018, ask the IB coordinator at your school to make your results available to University Admissions as soon as possible but no later than 5 July, see above.

Send any other grades you need to fulfil the entry requirements, e.g. Pre-IB grades, when you apply or by the last day to complete applications as noted on Universityadmissions.se/Antagning.se.

For applicants with an IB Diploma awarded 2017 or earlier

  • If you already have an IB Diploma, you must upload the scan of your original (or send in copies via regular post) of your diploma including test results.These documents must reach University Admissions by the document deadline for the admission round you've applied to. Do not use the IB Result Service to submit your documentation.

  • Other documents that are required, for example transcripts from Pre-IB, must be uploaded or mailed in to University Admissions by the document deadline for that admission round. 

Retakes

If you already have an IB Diploma but have done retakes, you must upload scans of the original diploma/certificate and the new IB Diploma - both are required. You can also submit your documents via regular post. Your documents must reach University Admissions by the document deadline for the admission roundy you've applied to.

If you have retakes from May 2018 and have applied to autumn semester:

Contact your IB coordinator and request they make your retake results available 5 July for "UHR", via IB's Result Service. You must upload or send in via regular post your earlier diploma/certificate by the document deadline for the admission round you've applied to.
